The performance by the Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe is not to be missed when traveling to the city of Shanghai, the wonderful performances they put on are held every day of the week, and are two hours in length. The troupe is one of the best in China, and you are lucky if you can see them perform when they travel outside of the country. The Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe also regularly travels and performs at other cities throughout China.
Shanghai has many popular attractions for local and international visitors, the name Shanghai means “City by the Sea,” and there Huangpu River tours reflect the city’s beautiful water ways leading to the sea. The Shanghai Museum is another must see attraction and the Temple of the Jade Buddha, and the Children’s Palace should be on your list. If it is your first trip to Shanghai, or to China, there are many great and informative sites online that are produced by local travel agents that can assist you upon your arrival.
The performances by the Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe though with their juggling, chair stacking, unbelievable contortionism displays and gravity defying motorized acts is really the best attractions in the city, in my opinion.Related Article : Yu Yuan and Huangpu – Shanghai, China

Visitors to the Jade Buddha Temple will find a wonderful example of Chinese architecture in the three main halls that are connected by two courts. The temple was built from 1918 to 1928, to replace the original temple that was built in 1882 to house two jade Buddhas that were transported to Shanghai from Burma by abbot Hui Gen of Mount Putuo. The temple also houses a third Buddha that was a gift from Singapore. The largest of the original Buddha statues is 1.95 meters tall and weighs three ones. The statue from Singapore is much larger than the two original statues. Visitors can see all three jade Buddhas in the Jade Buddha Chamber inside the Grand Hall of Magnificence.
The Jade Buddha Temple is still the home to an active monk community and visitors will be fascinated by their religious ceremonies that are sometimes open to the public. The costs to visit the temple is three United States dollars, and seeing the Buddhas requires visitors to pay another dollar and a half. Visitors should be aware that they can not take photos of the Buddhas.Visitors are also encouraged to leave a donation in the charity box. Visitors can purchase jade at the temple, but it is available at cheaper prices other places in Singapore.

When visiting Shanghai, visitors will be delighted to take a cruise on the Huangpu River. The river divides Shanghai into its eastern and western parts and run 71 miles from Dianshan Lake to the Yangtze River.
Guests can purchase their tickets at several points along the river, before embarking on their cruise from Bund Sightseeing area 501. Guests have five different cruise ships that they can choose from. The largest is the Quangiu Tong which holds 400 passengers. It is nicknamed the Crystal Palace on the River, because much of the boat is constructed of transparent glass. Those looking for an intimate experience should consider the Qinhuaihe, filled with examples of Chinese culture.
Guests can also choose different lengths of tours lasting from one hour to three hours. The one hour cruise allows visitors to see the historic buildings on one side and the modern commercial city on the other side. The two hour tour includes trips to the Nanpu and Yangpu bridges. The longest cruise includes a trip to the end of the Hangpu River where it empties into the Yangtze River.
The most popular cruise is the evening cruise, which includes dinner. This cruise is an outstanding way to enjoy not only the sights of Shanghai at night, but also a great meal.
